Просмотр полной версии : Как сделать макет динозавра

Decided to have a bash at a dinosaur since they're in vogue once more - were they ever out of fashion? Space is at a premium in my workshop so no Tyrannosaurus Rex, just a humble 4ft Velociraptor that I intend donating to the local children's hospice, for them to auction or to keep.
If the sculpt and moulding goes to plan I'll cast the beast with Jesmonite and fashion the sharp teeth and claws possibly with Sculpy Bend and Bake for safety reasons.
Still far too early to be thinking of that as I'm currently working on the armature, using templates a bit like boat building. See some progress shots below. They wouldn't win any photographic competitions but at least they're a record of the work I've done so far. Difficult to get room in my workshop to photograph the model without using a wide angle lens and the exaggerated perspective that incurs.

My method might appear a bit laboured but I'm having a bit of fun before the much trickier stages of sculpting etc. Hopefully I'll show some more progress shots soon.
Note the plywood templates are in two pieces, the outer 1" being removed prior to using wire mesh and plaster bandages. These are applied later to aid sculpting with clay.

Here's a few more pictures from the wiremesh and plaster bandage reinforcing stage. The model is now ready for sculpting but I'm waiting for a delivery of a new supply of clay. I've used Newplast in the past but going to have a shot using Chavant NSP or Klean Klay.

Outer 1" of templates loosely attached to armature to aid scale when sculpting. However I will rely more on eyeballing it rather than adhering to these shapes. Technique doesn't need to be as accurate as protoyyping, especially as nobody really knows what a velociraptor looks like. Good excuse for getting it wrong I say.
Just waiting for clay now.

Here's some more progress shots. Clay addition is still very rough so main muscle groups not defined yet. Basically just getting the overal shape sorted using my templates as guides. Coming along not too bad, except I wasn't happy with the end of the tail, so it's been chooped and refixed (not shown in these photos). It needs 24hrs to dry before I can tackle it again. Plenty of other things to do as I've been working mainly on one side. Once that's done I'll complete symmetry on the other side.

An update of progress. Really not much more than bulking out the form. I've added a little detail to the left side of the head and the left leg, but it's still really at the early stages. I've used a small kiddies ball belonging to my grandaughter to approximate for his eye and small nails for teeth. Naturally these are only temporary. Once I complete the bulking out I'll starting defining the muscles and major folds and creases. Once that's done I'll start all the skin texture. So lots to get on with and it might be some time before my next update.
The photos are a bit rough as I never took much time over them, but I might refine some later when I've more time. Also note my wide angle lens working in a confined space has exaggerated the perspective in some of the shots.

Outer 1" of templates loosely attached to armature to aid scale when sculpting.

Note the plywood templates are in two pieces, the outer 1" being removed prior to using wire mesh and plaster bandages. These are applied later to aid sculpting with clay.

а вот тут он пишет, что использует сорт пластилина.

I've used Newplast in the past but going to have a shot using Chavant NSP or Klean Klay.

Отчего же! Логика вполне присутствует у Малинка. Я подобным образом, в натуральную величину мишку делал. Использовал классический кукольный приём. Проволочный каркас. (как уменьшить объём картинки не знаю. Прошу извинить)
